Many of my clients have limited budgets and can’t afford to print 4-color so I often use use scratchboard to create graphically strong solutions that feel like woodcuts or linoleum block prints. I also use pen and ink or pencil. When color is an option but the client likes the scratchboard look, I scan the black & white images and add color on the computer.
